In less than a week, the action kicks off at Japan’s Fuji Speedway in the landmark ‘SUPER GT x DTM Dream Race’ tie-up event. For this unique pair of races, which take place on the 23rd and 24th of November, 15 Japanese SUPER GT cars have been confirmed for the event, alongside the seven previously confirmed DTM entries. It means there will be a 22-car field for the Fuji race, comprising models from five manufacturers: Audi, BMW, Honda, Nissan, and Lexus. During one of the races on the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, one of the cars was involved in a major incident. He crashed on top of the truck used by the track marshals. John Lafolla is driving in the Toyota GT86 racing series. He lost control of the car after being hit by another car. His car drove between the barriers before hitting a wall. After that, his car ended up spinning and landing on top of the safety marshals. Both John Lafolla and all marshals weren’t injured in this massive crash.
René Rast was his usual quick self in qualifying for the weekend’s second DTM race at the Nürburgring this morning, but his Audi Sport Team Rosberg stablemate Jamie Green was ever so slightly quicker, edging out the German by a mere thousandth of a second in the dying seconds of Sunday morning’s session.

Switzerland’s Nico Müller narrowed Rene Rast’s DTM championship lead down to just 14 points after scoring a hugely significant win at the Lausitzring. Pole-sitter Rast (209 points) had led the opening stages of the race, but was forced to park his Audi RS5 DTM with a mechanical issue, allowing Müller (195 points) to lead home his Abt Sportsline team-mate Robin Frijns (NED) and Mike Rockenfeller (GER).
