The Formula One boss Stefano Domenicali confirmed that the fans aren’t going to get a refund or compensation after the Belgium GP.
Stefano Domenicali said the following about the statement made by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas:
It doesn’t matter if there are no laps driven or just two laps. The costs for the weekend were already made. The tickets aren’t in the scope of Formula One Management but with the event organizer. However, we are going to look if we are able to give a small gift to the fans.
Stefano also confirmed the statement by Michael Masi that the decision has been made based on Safety and not on Commercial interest.
